Environmental Policies
The Group is actively preserving a green environment by implementing significant policies and recognised practices in all mills processing crude palm oil, palm kernel, palm kernel oil and palm kernel expeller
Curb Environment Pollutions
Containment of soil, water and air pollutions by:
- disposing properly biomass solid waste
- recycling used water
- decomposing microorganisms and dissolving contaminants in wastewater
- minimising carbon emission through optimal use of bio-fuel in substitution for fossil fuel
Restraint Carbon Emission
Prohibition of open burning on the grounds of mills in observance of Environmental Quality Act 1974 and MSPO Recommended Practices.
Prohibition of converting natural and high carbon stock forests into oil palm plantations and other degradable uses of land.
Harness Renewable Energy
Generation of renewable energy (RE) using palm oil mill effluent (POME) biomass waste and solar radiation. By generating RE, the carbon footprint is significantly reduced through lower emission of methane gas and less reliance on power supply of electricity from the national grid.
